On 30th August 1985, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Jacob was ordained as a Ramban by HG Jacub Mar Thimotheos at St. Mary's Simhasana Church, Pampadi, Kottayam. On 13th September 1985, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. John Jacob Ramban was ordained as Metropolitan, HG Dr. Yuhanon Mar Philexinose, to succeed the Late lamented Samuel Mar Phiolexinose of Malabar Diocese, by the Late Catholicose of the East, HB Baselius Paulose II (of Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church).
HG Dr. Yuhanon Mar Philexinose (known earlier as Dr. John Jacob), was born on 5th December 1941 at Pampadi, Kottayam as the 5th s/o Elappannal Kuruvila Chacko and Annammah of the ancient Thelakkattusseri family . He studied at CMS LP School, Kuroppada at Pampadi and completed his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce at Baselius College, Kottayam.
He was ordained as a deacon (Koruyo) in 1964 by His Grace Paulose Mar Philexinose, who later became Baselius Paulose II, the Catholicost of the East (of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church). He also obtained a BA degree in Economics from the Kerala University, and an MA Degree in Economics from the SV University of Thirupathi. During 1964-68, he was enrolled at the Kottayam Old Seminary, Devalokam, Kottayam for studies on theology (GST Degree).
On the 30th of May 1969, he was ordained as a priest (Kasissho) at Devalokam Seminary Chapel on the by the then Catholicost of the East Baselius Augen I (of the Syrian Orthodox Church before the separation of the Church into two factions - Malankara Orthodox and Jacobite Syrian Orthodox - in 1970). He was led to the Altar of Pampadi St. Mary's Simhasana Church by Kadavumbhagathu Anthrayose Corepiscopa on Good Friday. Rev. Fr. John Jacob became the Vicar of the New York City Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church thereafter and took his Doctorate on Theology and Divinity from the New York Theological Seminary.
HG Dr. Yuhanon Mar Philexinose undertook a number of administrative reforms including: the instituting of a Welfare Fund for priests; centralization of the salary payment system; instituting of a Pension Fund for priests; establishment of new churches; and instituting of transfer of priests once in 3 years.
He established a number of institutions including: St. Peter's and St. Paul's English Medium School (2000); Nazareth Convent (2002); Computer Institute recognized by Govt. Of India (2002); and the B.Ed College (2003).
On 27th December 2000, Bishop Yuhanon Mar Philexinose was nominated as the Trustee of the Synod of Metropolitans.

Later, in 1996, on the demise of Late HG Ghevarghese Mar Gregorios, HG Thomas Mar Dionysius became the Catholicate-designate.
2000 Sep 25: Smt. Annamah Ghevarghese (mother of Late Samuel Mar Philexinose), born on 22-03-1905, passed away on 25-09-2000.
2000, Dec 27: The meeting of the Representatives of Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Churches at Cochin nominated Bishop Thomas Mar Dynosius as the successor to the Late Catholicose of the East, Aboon Mar Baselius Paulose II. Later. Bishop Yuhanon Mar Philexinose was nominated as the Trustee of the Synod of Metropolitans.
2002 June 6: On 6th June 2002, the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Association adopted a new constitution, and HG Thomas Mar Dionysius was ordained HB Catholicose Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I.
2005 Feb 2: Sri CG Johny (2nd younger brother of Late Samuel Mar Philexinose), born on 23-09-1934 passed away on 09-02-2005.

Metropolitan HG Dr. Yuhanon Mar Philexinose, released Ecclesia-Quiz Book, compiled by the Elder’s Forum of the Meenagadi JSO Church. Dr. Varghese George was presented with the first signed-copy of the same by the Metropolitan.

The Holy Qurbana was held on 25 make-shift alters, with the participation of 25 members of the clergy at St. Peter's & St. Paul's Jacobite Syrian Cathedral. HG Paulose Mar Irenios of Kozhikode Diocese, HG Issac Mar Osthatheos of Mylapore Diocese, and HG Zacharias Mar Philoxenos, the newly appointed metropolitan of Malabar Diocese presided over the Holy Qurbono.
The 25 alters were dedicated to St. Peter & St. Paul, St. Mary, St. George, St. Abraham, St. Issac, St. Yaqu'b, St. John, St. Andrews, St. Philip, St. Thomas, Mor Aphrem, Mor Balai, St. Stephen, Mor Behnan, Mor Kauma, St. Kuriakose, St. Ignatius Elias III, St. Baselios Yeldho, St. Gregorios Chathuruthil, St. Gregorios Abdul Jaleel, St. Osthatheos Sleeba, St. Athanasius Paulose, St. Baselios Shakralla, St. Coorilos Yuyakkim and St. Coorilos Paulose.
Immediately after the Holy Mass, a public function was held on the occasion of the 25th Dukhrono. HG Paulose Mar Irenios presided over the function, while HG Zacharias Mar Philexinose, the Metropolitan of the Diocese, gave the Memorial Speech. Rev. Fr. Narakath Puthenpurayil Paulose Cor-episcopa delivered the key-note address. The Chief Guest in this function, Sri. Jose Thettayil, Hon. Minister for Transportation, delivered a memorable speech. HG Issac Mar Osthatheos released the Souvenir (Smaranika) on this occasion, and Sri. MI Shanavas, Hon. Member of Parliament, Sri. P. Krishnaprasad, Hon. Member of Legislature, Sri. M. V Sreyamskumar, Hon. Member of Legislature, Smt. Vatsa Chacko, Sri. George Pothan, Smt. Beena Vijayan, Rev. Fr. Baby Elias Karakunnel, Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Michael Pulliyattel CorEpiscopa, Rev. Fr. 2010 Jun 6: On the 6th of April 2010, His Holiness Moran Mar Ignatius Zakka Iwas I, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, granted Sri. KG George, the decoration of St. Ephrem the Syrian, for Chevalier, in recognition of exemplary services to the Church. The medal was conferred on Sri. KG George on the 6th of June, 2010 by the Catholicose Aboon Mar Baselius Thomas I, at the St. Peter’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral, Trivandrum. HG Paulose Mar Iraneos, and HG Elias Mar Athanasius graced the occasion. The other dignitaries present include Bar Etho Breero Dr. D. Babu Paul (Retd. IAS), Commander Dr. CA Nainan, and the members of the Church.
Sri, KG George, who was initially an active member of the Jacobite Syrian Church in Malaysia, came back to India in 1970, and rendered yeomen service to the Church at Trivandrum. He served the Church as the Secretary, and Trustee in a number of occasions, and was deeply involved in the construction of the new church. Later on, he served as the Headmaster of the Sunday School, and also as the Inspector of Sunday Schools for a number of years. He also led the Prayer Group of the Church. Moreover, he offered his services at the Alter for more than 65 years without fail.
Sri. KG George, brother of the Late Thirumeni, receives the honour (medal) of the Cheveliar on 6th June 2010 from the Catholicose Aboon Mar Baselius Thomas Ie 6th of June 2010, at the St. Peter’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral, Trivandrum.

2010 Nov 6: Chevalier Sri. KG George (1st younger brother of Late Samuel Mar Philexinose), born on 12-07-1933 passed away on 06-11-2010.
His wife Late Mrs, Agnes Gracy George, born on 13-02-1941, passed away on 01-09-2007.
He is survived by his sons Dr. Varghese George (Prof. in Civil Engg, and Dean, NITK, Surathkal), and Er. Mathew George (Engineer, MSRYB & Co, Kuwait); his daughter-in-laws, Mrs. Shirley, and Mrs. Joice Rachel; his grand-sons, George Varghese, and Roney George Mathew; his grand daughters, Kiran Ann Mathew, and Susan Varghese; his brother EY Daniel (Retd. Naval Base Officer, Cochin); and his sisters Mrs. KV Thankamma Joykutty (Retd. Prof. Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta), and Mrs. CG Kunjamma Cherian.
2011 Jan 17: The 26th Dukhrono was attended by Dr . Varghese George (son of Chev. KG George), attended the functions. Late Lamented Samuel mar Pilexinose now came to be called as Malankarayude Soorya Thejas (the one in Malankara, who shines like the Sun).
The 26th Dukhrono was held at St. Peter's & St. Paul's JSO Cathedral, Meenangadi. Vicar Rev. Fr. P C Paulose Puthanpurakkal hoisted the flag on January 16th. Rev. Dr. Jacob Michael Pulliyattel (Chairman, Publicity), Rev. Fr. Aju Chacko Aruthamamoottil, Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Puthupady, Shri. Babu Paul Vandanathil (Secretary, JSOYA, Malabar), Shri. Anil K Jacob Keecherril (Convenor, Publicity), Office bearers of the cathedral and the faithful were present. Metropolitan Zacharias mar Philexinose led the Holy Tri-Mass on the 17th of January. Pilgrims from different parts of the diocese reached the Cathedral at 9.00 AM.
HG Zacharias Mar Philexinose presided over the public function held immediately after the Holy Mass, and handed over the key of Samuel Mar Philexinose Bhavan, to Shri. Mathai Pottayil, who belonged to a poor family. As part of the charity work undertaken at every Dukhrono, various endowments were distributed to the needy, and prizes were given away for children who participated in a number of competitions.

The meeting also recorded the condolences on the demise of Chev. KG George, a faithful servant of the Jacobite Syrian Church.
The public function on the occasion of the 26th Dukhrono was presided by the Metropolitan, HG Zacharias Mar Philexinose. The other dignitaries included Rev. Fr. PC Paulose, Rev. Fr. Narakathu Puthenpurayil Paulose Cor-Episcopa, Rev Fr. Mathai Athirampuzha, Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Michael Cor-Episcopa, Rev. Fr. Baby Elias, and Sri. Joy Kavunkal. Dr. Varghese George represented the family members of the Late Thirumeni (2011).
2011 Jul 25: Rev. Fr. Michael Pulliyattel Cor-Episcopa passed away. He had served the Church as the Diocesan Administrator in 1985, and as the secretary from 1975-2000. He was a Sabha Working Committee Member from 1975-2001. He was the founding President of Meenangadi YMCA. He was honoured with the 'Acharya Shreshta' Award. He was consecrated as Kassesso by LL Mor Severios Paulose Mulayirikkal at Koratty Zion Seminary in 1958.
